I have rediscovered the joys of home recording. Arranging favourite songs using a DAW.

I came across Tracktion Waveform, a free DAW.  I was very impressed that the free version offered so much.

I acquired a USB interface, the M-Audio M-Track SOLO to record guitar. I was having great fun laying down some tracks then added a Marantz condenser microphone.   When I first plugged the condenser mic in I was underwhelmed.

I expected something that needed 48 volts to work would need taming on the gain input but it was the opposite. Unless it was verging on hissing it was inaudible.
